40-yr-old woman found dead in Mumfordganj

ALLAHABAD: A 40-year-old woman, identified as Dipti Gupta, was found dead in mysterious circumstances at her rented house in Mumfordganj under Colonelganj police station on Thursday.
The incident, police said, came to light when Dipti's father reached her house and found her body. Police said the body was at least 48 hours old.
Inspector Colonelganj police station said Dipti had been living at the rented house for the past two years.The woman was reportedly mentally challenged and her husband had left her, inspector said, adding that the two were locked in a legal battle over alimony.
The couple had two children who live with Dipti's husband in Agra, the police officer said, adding that Dipti's father looked after her though he lived separately.
The police have sent the body for postmortem, said the inspector. He, however, ruled out the possibility of loot in the incident.
