PRAYAGRAJ: Superintendent of police, Pratapgarh, Satpal Antil on Tuesday suspended four policemen, including sub-inspector, Pramod Yadav, head constable Santosh Kumar and constables Ravi Prakash Yadav and Ram Prakash for dereliction of duty and other charges.

SP has also sent station house officer (SHO) of Udaipur police station, Ehsanul Haque to reserve police station from Udaipur police station with immediate effect on the same charges.

The SP said all the four policemen were placed under suspension for tarnishing the image of the police department, misbehaving with public, especially e-rickshaw drivers and thrashing them without reasons.

He added that all the policemen were found guilty for harassing public and denting the police department’s image. A departmental probe has also been ordered against them.

Report reaching here said that a group of policemen had allegedly misbehaved with two e-rickshaw drivers near Ateha crossing on July 19. A video where policemen misbehaved with the e-rickshaw drivers and commuters also went viral on social media. It was also reported that cops at Udaipur police station also misbehaved with the e-rickshaw drivers at the police station.
