22-year-old man dies during treatment, kin create ruckus

Prayagraj: Panic gripped Koraon – Meja route and adjoining areas under the limits of Koraon police station for around an hour after kin of a deceased – who died at a local hospital during treatment – placed the body in front of the hospital on Koraon Meja route demanding probe and action against the hospital. Inspector (Koraon) told TOI, “Following the death of a patient at a local during treatment, agitated family members were demanding probe. Police foiled their attempt to put a break on vehicular movement and assured them to look into their grievances”. Police said that the a 22-year-old youth and Belhat village resident was suffering from a serious ailment and had also undergone a surgery.

50-year-old man dies of snakebite

A 50-year-old man from Srikakulam district in Visakhapatnam died after being bitten by a snake at night. The man, B Bhima Rao, passed away while receiving treatment at a government hospital. In another incident, a 14-year-old girl in Bhopal died by suicide by hanging herself. The reason behind her extreme step remains unknown, as no suicide note was found. The girl was discovered by her mother, who rushed her to the hospital, where the police were informed. The parents are still unaware of the motive behind her actions.

Four hospitals fined for denying cashless treatment under PMJAY

Four hospitals in Rajkot, India have been penalized after deficiencies were found in their services under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PMJAY) insurance scheme. The state anti-fraud unit (SAFU) conducted surprise checks and found that the hospitals were denying cashless facilities to patients. The hospitals were fined amounts ranging from Rs 52,250 to Rs 3.45 lakh. The hospitals were also warned of blacklisting if they continued to violate the scheme's guidelines.
