2 teenagers drown, two rescued

Prayagraj: In a tragic incident, two teen boys were feared drowned at Deeha ghat in river Ganga under the limits of Karchana police station on Sunday morning. The missing boys were identified as Sanket Prajapati (14) and Mandeep Prajapati (15), residents of Deeha village. ACP (Karchana) Ajeet Singh Chauhan told that a group of four teenaged boys including Mandeep, Satyadeep, Sanket and Shaurya, all residents of Chuppepur Deeha village had gone for swimming at Deeha ghat at around 8 am. While swimming, all the four boys entered into deep water and started drowning. While local swimmers, managed to save Satyadeep and Shaurya but failed to save other two. Upon being alerted, a team of Karchana police along with swimmers rushed the spot and started work for fishing out bodies of missing boys. Police said that Sanket was a student of class IXth while Mandeep was a student of class VIIIth. Police, however, said that these four boys were coming to enjoy swimming in Ganga for past one month. tnn
