2 constables injured after being hit by speeding bike
Prayagraj: Two constables, including Ranjeet Kumar and Lokesh Kumar Baisala, posted at Baghrai police station, sustained serious injuries after they were hit by a speeding bike near Losanapur ground road under the limits of Baghrai police station of Pratapgarh district late on Monday night. The biker, identified as Adarsh Kumar Yadav alias Gopal Yadav (22), a resident of Nawabganj (Prayagraj), was arrested by the police.Yadav was also hurt in the incident. Both the injured constables were initially taken to Baghrai CHC, where doctors referred them to SRN Hospital in Prayagraj for treatment. The police also seized a country-made pistol of 0.315 bore along with two live cartridges from the possession of the arrested youth. Deputy SP (Sadar) Karishma Gupta said that, "A team of policemen, including sub inspector DK Pathak along with constables Sachin Kumar, Shashank Rai, Ranjeet Kumar, and Lokesh Kumar Baisala, were conducting vehicle checking near Lohsanapur ground road when an unknown biker, who was asked to stop, sped up and hit two constables. The other cops on duty, however, managed to nab the errant biker, who was also injured in the incident. Cops took all three injured persons to Baghrai CHC and then to the district hospital in Pratapgarh for treatment. Cops have registered an FIR against Adarsh Yadav under section 109 of IPC and section 3/5 of the Arms Act. tnn
