PRAYAGRAJ: Meritorious students of the state, who have secured a place in the state- or district-level merit lists in high school and intermediate exams of various educational boards in 2022, would be given cash prizes by the state government.
A total of 1,697 meritorious students of the state will be given over Rs 4.73 crore as prize money, officials said.
Director of secondary education Mahendra Dev said he has released a district-wise budget of over Rs 4.73 crore for this purpose vide a government order dated December 14.
The letter, copies of which have been sent to additional education director (secondary), Prayagraj as well as secretary, UP Board among others, informs that a total of 148 meritorious students who have made it to the state level merit list of UP Board, UP Board of Secondary Sanskrit Education, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) will be given a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh each.
Similarly, another 1,549 students of UP Board will get a prize of Rs 21,000 each, who have made a place in their respective district-level merit lists.
