Two labourers rescued from construction site in Ajmer

AJMER: Two labourers, including a woman, were injured when a wall adjacent to an under-construction commercial complex collapsed upon them in Topdara here on Wednesday morning. It took half an hour to rescue them and they were taken to JLN Hospital where they are under treatment.

Clock Tower station police reached the spot and officials of the municipal corporation stopped construction work at the site. Police said that the labourers were digging the basement of the building when the wall of a neighbouring structure collapsed and two labourers were buried underneath it.

A civil defence team along with police and local people removed the debris to rescue the labourers.

Local councillor Ranjeet Singh alleged that the commercial complex was being illegally constructed but corrupt officials in the municipal corporation had sanctioned its map.
