Ajmer girl kills self after father snatches her phone

Ajmer: A 15-year-old girl studying in class 9 killed herself at her house on Monday morning, police said. She took the drastic step allegedly because her father had scolded her over her not studying enough and snatched her mobile phone earlier in the morning.Officials of Civil Lines police station said a case was registered regarding the girl’s death and that an investigation started. The girl’s father, Manish Kumar, a resident of Ghooghra, told journalists that he was preparing to go to his office in a private company on Monday morning when he saw his younger daughter, Bhoomika, 15, using her mobile phone. He said the sight made him angry and he scolded her. He said he also took her mobile phone away and went to his office.Police said Bhoomika’s elder sister, Vaishishka,found her dead in her room at about 10am. She informed her family members, and soon their neighbours rushed in and brought Bhoomika down. She was rushed to JLN Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. The body was handed over to the family members after an autopsy, said police. tnn
