Security hiked at Ajmer railway station following a threat of train blast

AJMER: Security measures were increased at Ajmer railway station on Wednesday following a message on social media threatening to blast a train at the station. Passenger checking was intensified, and CCTV cameras were being monitored to identify any suspicious activity.

Government Railway Police (GRP) said the first message threatening to blast a train as a form of revenge emerged on July 13 and was shared and commented on repeatedly.

GRP head constable Choti Lal said, "On July 22, Subhash Chand, a head constable and in-charge of computer department at GRP SP's office, complained of a message floating on social media threatening to blast a train. A case was registered."

Ajmer GRP SP Rammurti Joshi said an alert has been raised, and investigation is underway.
