RPSC to introduce rules to curb cheating in recruitment exams

Ajmer: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), which is battling cases of paper leaks, dummy candidates, morphed photos of applicants and tampering of documents in recruitment examination, on Friday decided to introduce measures to curb such unfair practices.From now onwards, the candidates would be required to attach large and clear photos of themselves when completing the exam application form and then provide a sample of their handwriting on the attendance sheet in the examination hall.Candidates have so far been attaching passport size photographs to application forms and attendance sheets. However, now photographs larger than the passport size would be necessary to ensure that invigilators and in-charges at examination centres can clearly match candidates' faces.“These changes are meant to identify that the person entering the examination centre to sit for the exam is a genuine candidate and not a dummy,” said Ram Niwas Mehta, secretary of RPSC.Candidates will have to write a sentence below the space of signature in the attendance sheet. “At present, examination centre head gets signature of the candidate on the attendance sheet, tears the below part and sends that slip of attendance sheet with the examination material to the RPSC. From now on, the candidate will have to write any sentence on that slip and sign below the sentence in the presence of invigilator before it is sent to RPSC,” added Mehta.The RPSC also decided to enhance security measures for question papers sent to various examination centres.
