ICAI conducts national talent search competitions

Ajmer: Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is now turning towards personality development of students studying to be chartered accountants (CA). The Ajmer branch of ICAI has conducted the first step of a national talent search competition.
Yash Lodha stood first in elocution competition while the team of Shivam Annaya and Deepesh stood first in pitch deck competition. These students will now face the second phase of competition. From oration to presentation and soft skills, these competitions give students opportunities to show their talents.
“While usually it is thought that students of chartered accountancy face no college life and have a boring routine of internship and studies. ICAI has introduced activities to ensure personality development of the students by enhancing their soft skills,” said Divya Somani, chairperson of ICAI’s Ajmer branch.
She said it is now compulsory for students of CA to understand information technology and critical thinking subjects. “ICAI is bringing in changes to make students interact better in society rather than stay limited within their profession,” added Somani.
Juhi Divesh Agarwal, a CA student, said while he never got an opportunity for public speaking in his school, he enjoyed it during his course at ICAI and that it has helped him much.
