Girls shine again in Ajmer region
AJMER:
As per the merit list released by CBSE, six students made it into the top three ranks in Rajasthan. Jaipur’s Shreya Khandal of Maheshwari Girls Public School stood second. She scored 496 out of 500 marks.
The third sport was shared by four students—Shruti Sharma of St Angela Sophia Sr Sec School, Jaipur, Mehul Kochar of Shri Jain Public School in Bikaner, Rajat Choudhary of Tagore International School, Bhadra in Hanumangarh and Riya Choudhary of
Bakhshi’s Springdales Sr Sec School, Borkhera, Kota. They all scored 495 marks as per the merit list released by the CBSE.
Giving details, Sanjeev Das of CBSE, Ajmer region, said the girls’ pass percentage is higher than the boys. From across the country, students from Thiruvananthapuram fared the best with a pass percentage of 99.85%, followed by Chennai (99%) and Ajmer (95.89%).
Students from 2,545 schools of Ajmer region which includes Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli had registered for exams. From a total of 1,94,826 students who had registered, 1,94,303 appeared for the exam. Of these, 1,84,183 students passed the exams. He said that 7,126 students who had failed can reappear for the exam after a month.
Kendriya Vidyalayas topped in the exam with a pass percentage of 99.3%, followed by Jawahar Navodaya schools at 98.72%. Private schools ranked third with 94.95% and government schools stood at 93.87%.
