Ceaseless downpour for three days leaves Ajmer in shambles

Ajmer: Rains lashed the city for the third day on Sunday, resulting in the leaking of water from Anasagar Lake for the first time from Baradari. A house also collapsed in Mangliyawas. The check dam at Foysagar also leaked, and the SDRF is trying to stop the rushing water by using sandbags. For the third consecutive day, the road from TB hospital to Bajrangarh remained closed as roads and houses are flooded. Former RTDC chairman Dharmendra Singh Rathore inspected the flooded area of Foysagar on Sunday, met people, and heard their problems.Rathore also went to the check dam where water leaked into residential areas, and the SDRF is working to control the situation. Talking to the media, Rathore said that Congress is standing with the people and trying to force the administration to provide relief. "I have talked to the district collector and firmly asked to provide relief," he said. He added that the BJP is absolutely responsible for such a disaster in Ajmer.There is anger among the people that despite needing help, administration officials are doing nothing but inspecting places. Anguish and problems increased when continuous rains occurred several times a day, and water flushed from Anasagar is collecting in the lower region of Nagara. There are many streets in Sunhari Nagar where people are unable to come out of their houses.Colonies near Anasagar on Sunday remained flooded, and the link road remained closed because of waterlogging. Residents said that the administration and municipal authorities have done nothing to arrange water flushing, and drainage systems were not cleaned, leading to such flood situations during rainy days.In Nathuthala village of Mangliyawas, a house collapsed but no casualties were reported. In Pushkar, waterlogging persists in the lower regions of the town, and water is still coming into the sarovar. Local Congress members alleged corruption in the smart city project and held the BJP responsible for this.

Centre tells T and AP to use 3.8k cr SDRF for flood relief

Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that the central government is providing immediate assistance of Rs 3,884 crore to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh from the State Disaster Response Fund. Further financial aid will be determined after an inter-ministerial team's survey. Chouhan assured farmers of compensation for crop damage and support for future agricultural needs.

Cave-ins appear as flood water receeds

In Vadodara, as flood waters recede, cave-ins have been reported at three locations, including a major one in Mujmahuda. Officials from the Vadodara Municipal Corporation inspected the site. Another crater appeared in Nizampura beneath a dairy truck that required crane assistance for removal. Leakages from water or drainage pipes are suspected to be the cause.

Andhra Pradesh rains: Airdropping of food, water begins in flood-hit Vijayawada

NDRF teams along with local officials are distributing essential supplies in flood-hit Vijayawada using helicopters and drones. Relief efforts coordinated by ministers and officers include delivering food, water, and medicines. Over 43,000 residents have been moved to rehabilitation centers while nearly 200 medical camps have been established for those affected by the flooding.
