Boy cooks up abduction story to win online game

Ajmer: A 13-year-old boy's false story of abduction during a game of Truth or Dare on his mobile phone sent the police on a wild goose chase in Ajmer. The young boy fabricated the entire account in order to win the game, causing unnecessary panic. Authorities have urged parents to be vigilant and prevent their children from participating in such games.The incident came to light when Lokesh Verma, a resident of Christian Ganj, filed a report at the police station on July 6, stating that his 13-year-old nephew had been the target of an abduction attempt. According to the report, the boy had claimed that while returning from school, he encountered a van parked on the roadside. A man wearing a black scarf approached him, stating that his mother was looking for him and offered him chocolates. Frightened, the boy tried to flee, but the unknown man snatched his bag before throwing it on the road and making his escape. Fortunately, a passerby who noticed the bag informed the boy's mother, as her contact number was written on it.Prompted by the report, the police swiftly initiated their investigation, searching for the alleged abductor and questioning individuals in the vicinity. They also meticulously reviewed CCTV footage from nearby cameras but found no evidence of any attempted abduction. It was during a subsequent conversation with the boy that the truth finally emerged. He confessed that he had concocted the entire story solely to triumph in the game of Truth or Dare with his friend.Ajmer SP Chuna Ram Jat expressed his disappointment over the incident and called upon all schools to address their students during assemblies, urging them to steer clear of such games. The police have also appealed to parents, emphasizing the importance of monitoring their children's activities and ensuring they do not engage in potentially harmful or misleading games.
