Ajmer’s Foysagar lake will be included under ERCP: Devnani

Ajmer: To establish a stable alternative water supply system in Ajmer, high-power pumps were installed at Foysagar lake on Monday. These pumps cost Rs 66 lakh, with two pumps of 25 HP and two of 30 HP at the pump house, which will improve the water supply in 15 zones of the city. While inaugurating the pumps, state assembly speaker and Ajmer North MLA Vasudev Devnani said that Foysagar lake will be included under the ERCP (Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project). Devnani, on this occasion, said that he is committed to resolving the water problem of Ajmer and, therefore, the budget has been passed for the ERCP to include Ajmer in it. Under this scheme, new pipelines and other facilities will be provided for the production of water from Foysagar. Previously, Ajmer was totally dependent on the water supply from Bisalpur, and with the increasing population, low pressure and water supply every 72 hours were major problems for the city. He also announced that habitats situated at farthest corners of the district will also get Bisalpur water.

Areas in Bandra, Khar, Santacruz continue to reel under low pressure water supply

Water issues persisted in areas like Bandra, Khar, and Santacruz, despite the BMC's efforts to fix leakages. Contaminated water and low-pressure supplies remained a concern, affecting residents' daily lives. Former corporator Asif Zakaria and local MP Varsha Gaikwad pushed for commissioning a new water inlet to resolve the problem. Repairs and maintenance continued in the affected regions.

7 IPS officers reshuffled, new IG appointed for Ajmer, DIG for Pali

The Bhajan Lal Sharma-led government reshuffled seven IPS officers, including the IGs of Ajmer and the DIG of Pali. Key changes included DIG Om Prakash taking over Ajmer range and DIG Pradeep Mohan Sharma moving to Pali. Additionally, transfers for officers in Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, and Salumber districts were also made. Another major reshuffle is anticipated soon.

Pipe leak: Main city areas face water supply disruption

The Kerala Water Authority reported that a major pipeline leak at Ambalamukku would disrupt the water supply in various parts of Thiruvananthapuram from 10pm Thursday to 8pm Friday. Areas affected include Peroorkada, Ambalamukku, and Medical College. Electrical maintenance at Aruvikkara would also impact supply, resuming by Wednesday noon. Persistent leaks have prompted KWA to consider replacing old pipes.
