and went on

hunger strike

, second time in last two months. Six prisoners were admitted to

JLN Hospital

on Wednesday late night for treatment. Prisoners and their relatives accused that they were not getting basic facilities inside jail while the jail administration denied any incident of hunger strike.

High security jail was opened last year and criminals like

Anandpal Singh

were brought from different parts of the state in this high security jail. "There are hardcore criminals like Anil Pandya who is booked in more than thirty heinous crimes like murder, extortion and loot. Last month, prisoners went on hunger strike demanding better cells, TV facility and recreation room but the jail does not have rules like ordinary jails and the administration rejected the prisoners' demands," said a source adding that this jail is totally different from other jails of the state where the prisoner does not have any idea of who is locked up in the nearby cell.

Sources said that a group of prisoners went on hunger strike on Monday stating that they were not getting proper food, cleanliness, air and water. Six prisoners including Anil Pandya were admitted in JLN Hospital amid heavy security that caught the eyes of people. "They were weak and fluid was provided to them," said a source in the hospital. Three of them returned back to jail on Thursday while the remaining trio is still undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Meanwhile, jail administration has denied any mutiny inside bars and a team of district administration that inspected the jail has also refrained from commenting on this situation.

"We are running the jail according to the norms decided by government and every demand of prisoners is sent to state government," said an official source.
