5 men duped of ₹3L each for jobs in Armenia

Ajmer: An FIR was registered with Roopangarh police after five men alleged that they were duped of Rs 15 lakh by a man who promised them jobs in Armenia.Victim Ramavtar Vishnoi and four other men visited the SP office in Ajmer on Thursday and lodged a complaint against accused Kanhaiya Lal, a resident of Salemabad, who met them and promised work in a big private company in Armenia. Ramavtar and his friends were eager to get work in Armenia and hence collected money from their families and relatives to fulfill their dream of working in a foreign country. “He charged Rs 3 lakh per person to arrange a working visa in that country. Last month, Kanhaiya took us to Armenia on a tourist visa and locked all five of us in a room for five days,” added Vishnoi. Vishnoi said, “It was only after our tourist visa ended, we were sent back to India. On returning, when we went to Kanhaiya's house, he was untraceable. There is a big gang involved in this fraud. Hence, we decided to seek help from the police and lodged a complaint.” The victims alleged there is a gang working to dupe youths to provide work in foreign countries and hence they should be arrested as soon as possible. Sachin planned to enter Armenia illegally through the Lachin corridor, but was tracked down in Azerbaijan. He had fled Delhi for Dubai after claiming responsibility for killing Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala. Sachin's interrogation report revealed his involvement in an extortion incident in Dwarka and his role in an MCOCA case. He was detained in August 2022 and brought back to Delhi by a special cell team.

Official: US to begin domestic work visa renewal from December

The US is set to begin a pilot programme for domestic renewal of certain categories of H-1B visas in December, benefiting a large number of Indian technology professionals. This move comes months after the White House announced the plan during a visit of PM Modi. Julie Stufft, deputy assistant secretary of state for visa services, stated that the domestic visa renewal programme is focused on India and will issue 20,000 visas to foreign nationals already in the country. The programme aims to reduce wait times and prevent the need for travel back to India for visa renewal.
