A youth was caught by Navrangpura police for molestation a girl student in GLS premises on Friday. Police later included sections regarding atrocity and obstructing a government official from performing duty.

AHMEDABAD: A youth was caught by Navrangpura police for molestation a girl student in GLS premises on Friday. Police later included sections regarding atrocity and obstructing a government official from performing duty.
According to Navrangpura police, Shraddha (name changed), a GLS college student, was in the institution premises when accused Vishal Makwana and his friends tried to stop her and hold her hand.

Soon, Shraddha's friends rushed on the spot and thrashed Makwana and allegedly abused his with caste remarks. Makwana then filed a complaint against the group for atrocities.
"By that time, Shraddha also came to the police station and lodged a complaint against him for molestation. Makwana's father and brother tried to influence the complainant and even police registering the case, another case was filed against them," said a Navrangpura police official.
