Ahmedabad: Union minister of state for science and technology Dr
Jitendra Singh on Thursday said that India today offers opportunities for young researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs than ever before.
“With easier access to technology, information and resources, the next generation has the potential to drive meaningful change. What is needed is a shift in mindset, one that embraces innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration. The govt is focused on building a supportive ecosystem that encourages research, strengthens startups and helps convert ideas into impactful solutions,” he said.
He added that Gujarat already has a strong ecosystem for innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship, and young innovators should make the most of it.
He was speaking after inauguration of new facilities at IIT Gandhinagar (IIT-Gn) campus. These facilities included Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) and the Centre for AI-Driven Innovation and launched three interdisciplinary research clusters; the Advanced Materials Research Cluster (AMRC), the Energy Research Cluster (ERC), and the Healthcare & MedTech Research Cluster (HMRC).
“With these centres, we aim to create an environment where researchers, students, and innovators can work together to address complex challenges and develop solutions that benefit society,” said prof Rajat Moona, director of IIT-Gn.
