AHMEDABAD: The Ahmedabad Medical Association (AMA) on Sunday celebrated its 120th AMA day at the association’s headquarters on Ashram Road. The event was attended by over 250 doctors. Senior doctors along with the meritorious medical students were felicitated during the event. Manoj Aggarwal, ACS (health), was the chief guest at the event, and Ajay Patel, chairman of Indian Red Cross Society, was the guest of honour.
“Every year, the annual day is celebrated to honour and felicitate the senior doctors who have contributed significantly to the fraternity and society; and also to appreciate their works and achievements in different fields,” said a senior AMA official, adding that the event witnessed felicitation of 27 doctors.
One of the awardees was veteran doctor and teacher Dr G G Oza, 88. He got the octogenarian doctor of the year award during the ceremony. Guru of various well-known doctors today, Oza was active at VS Hospital and NHL Municipal Medical College for three decades. tnn
