The food truck owners in Ahmedabad claim that they have been following all the safety measures, and the 10 pm deadline has come as a big blow at a time when they were hoping for a good season ahead. Yash Agarwal, the owner of Yash’s says, “The places have been sealed without a notice. We were banking on the upcoming festive season and hoping to cash in and make up for the losses incurred during the last six months.” Like the other owners, Yash also says that he can’t do much if customers flout safety guidelines.
He adds, “The new guidelines aren’t being implemented in a harmonious way, and the future looks dark for our industry. If the 10 pm deadline stays throughout October, we will have to shut down permanently. We are trying to give shelter and jobs to many people and just when we thought that things were beginning to look up, we are in trouble again.”
