on Saturday took a dig at former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and endorsed a scheme by Rupani’s predecessor, former

chief minister and Uttar Pradesh governor Anandiben Patel. Gandhi had claimed on Twitter that the ‘One District, One Product’ scheme, promoted by the Himachal Pradesh government, is his idea. Reacting strongly, CM Rupani shared a February 2016 tweet of his predecessor Anandiben Patel, in which she talked about a pilot scheme launched in Gujarat of ‘One Village, One Product’ promotion.
In a tweet, Rupani said, “Rahul ji, copying Gujarat’s initiatives and selling them as your ideas does not show your smartness. I don’t expect you to know details of anything, but your script-writers should know better! How about a `One defeat, One reinvention’, policy for you?’’
Reacting to the CM’s tweet, state Congress president Amit Chavda said the BJP government makes big announcements but fails to implement them. “Make the list of `One Village, One Product’ scheme public. The government should also tell people of it’s ‘One District, One Contractor’ scam. We will be happy to provide the government with details,” Chavda said.
