VADODARA: The family of Yogesh Shah hasnt taken its eyes even for a moment off their television set at their residence in Nizampura area. Yogesh, who was on an official tour to Mumbai, was stuck on the 29th floor of the Oberoi Hotel when it was attacked by terrorists on Wednesday night. However, his rescue on Friday morning brought a great relief to his near and dear ones.
Though he called up his parents and informed them about his wellbeing on Thursday, they were still worried. Yogesh works for a diamond company in the US and was on official visit to Mumbai. His company had booked a room in Oberoi Hotel. He was in the hotel when the terrorists took over it, Champaklal Shah, father of Yogesh told mediapersons on Thursday night.
He had invited his sister and brother-in-law for dinner on Wednesday at the hotel. They finished the dinner and left. Moments after that Yogesh heard gunshots in the hotel, said Shah, a retired schoolteacher.
We kept watching television channels in the hope to get some news. We breathed a sigh of relief when he called us from the hotel on Thursday morning and told us that he was fine. But, he was terrified as he wasnt getting any information about the happenings outside, Shah added.
Yogesh parents have left for Mumbai.
