AHMEDABAD: Three murders took place in the city in the past five days. While two murders were related to illicit relationship, the third
murder was an outcome of garba-related dispute in Shahibaug.
A 30-year-old woman, Heena Marwadi, was clubbed to death by her lover Mahesh Thakor on Friday night near railway tracks close to the Aman Party Plot in Vasna. According to police, Heena Marwadi was married to Sanjay Marwadi about three years ago.
“However, due to frequent quarrels between the two, Heena, mother of two children, shifted to her aunt’s house in Bhudarpura sometime back. Here she met Mahesh Thakor and fell in love. Marwadi and Thakor used to meet near the Aman Party Plot. On Friday night when they met there, an inebriated Thakor reacted aggressively to a dispute and clubbed her to death with stones and fled from the scene of crime. We are hunting for the accused,” said a police official.
In another incident, one Dillu, a resident of Vastrapur, was stabbed to death by his wife’s lover, Chirag Vaspodiya, and his six friends. Vastrapur police have arrested the main accused and have formed teams to nab the remaining absconders. According to police, Meena (name changed) – mother of two kids — had eloped with Vaspodiya about a month ago. However, Dillu wanted his wife to come back and take care of kids. This angered Vaspodiya, who has a criminal record. He then threatened Dillu that if he calls one more time to Meena, asking her to return, he would kill him. On the new year day, as the kids remembered their mother, Dillu called up his wife to come back. Vaspodiya got agitated and rushed to Dillu’s house with his six friends and stabbed him to death,” added a Vastrapur police official.
In the third murder case, a 25-year-old youth,
Nilesh Parmar, was stabbed to death by two accused, Prakash Parmar and Bakul Vaghela, on the morning of the new year day in a garba-related dispute.
