Two arrested for stealing vehicles from Malls and market places

AHMEDABAD: Crime branch sleuths nabbed two persons Hitesh Jain and Kiran Shah, both residents of

Shahibaugh

for stealing two wheelers from crowded market areas and from near mall located in Satellite and SG Road of the city. Crime branch recovered four stolen two wheelers from the duo.

Crime branch officials said during interrogation of the accused it came to light that they have stolen all vehicles from near Mall located in Satellite and SG Road.

"Jain used a duplicate key to start the ignition switch of the vehicles. Both used to ply the vehicle till the fuel exhausted and then abandon it at isolated spots" added a crime branch official.

Crime branch sources said during verification it was revealed that the duo had stolen vehicles from Madhavpura, Shahibaugh, Satellite and Vastrapur areas of the city.

"Accused Jain has confessed before us that he was earlier arrested for stealing about 15 two wheelers in the city. He was even detained under the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (

PASA

) and sent to Surat Jail.
