AHMEDABAD: A 5-year-old boy was allegedly thrashed harshly by a tuition teacher who also happens to be a teacher in the same school where the boy studies in Senior KG. The father of the boy has lodged a complaint with
Krishnanagar
police. The school administration said that as the incident had not happened in the school, they will verify the incident and take action against the teacher.
According to the complaint lodged by the boy's father
Ketan Patel, who is a resident of Pujan bungalows in Krishnanagar, his son Ayush Patel studies in St Marry's School in Krishnagar and attends tuition classes run by its teacher Shreji Pillai.
“On November 16 when Ayush's mother,
Sama Patel
, went to tuition classes run by Pillai at his residence in Omkar Tenament, which is located just opposite the school. Ayush later complained that Pillai had beaten him up with a steel scale,“ a police official said.
Sources in the police said when Ayush's father, Ketan, returned from a business trip to Mumbai, he saw the lash marks on Ayush's back.
“He then met Pillai on November 18 when he went to the school to pick up Ayush. Ketan Patel has alleged that Pillai told him that he had beaten up Ayush as he was not doing his lessons. We have registered a complaint and are probing the details mentioned by Ayush's father in the complaint,“ said a senior police official.
