'Tree cover down by 101 hectares in state'

Quoting a report of Global Forest Watch, an organization that promotes preservation of forests, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) spokesman Parthivrajsinh Kathavadia said on Sunday that the tree cover in Gujarat has dropped by 101 hectares in the past two decades.

Kathavadia said that according to the report nine hectares of forest cover has been lost due to fires, while 92 hectares has been lost because of other reasons.
