Trader kidnapped by loan sharks, thrashed

AHMEDABAD: A trader from

Ellisbridge

has alleged that he was abducted and thrashed by loan sharks on December 25.

In his complaint with police,

Anar Shah

(45), stated that he had borrowed Rs 15 lakh from Ajay Shekavat, who in turn had got the money on loan from one Ramesh Desai. Now, Desai was demanding Rs 22 lakh and interest from Shah, said sources.

According to Shah’s complaint, on December 25 he was pushed into a car near Paldi. The man inside the car identified himself as

Tino Desai

, brother of Ramesh Desai.

They took Shah to an isolated field on

SG Highway

and beat him up, said police, adding that Ramesh Desai and one Bharat Desai were present there.
