Ahmedabad: The Anandnagar and Satellite areas reported two incidents of house break-ins. In a complaint with Satellite police, cash and saris worth Rs 3.64 lakh were stolen from a sari showroom near Shivranjani Crossroads.
Sanket Lakhani (32), who owns the sari showroom at Shivranjani Crossroads, stated that on Friday, his manager Divyesh Trivedi called him and informed him of a theft at the showroom. He stated in the complaint that upon reaching the showroom, he found that the cash counter was broken and saris were scattered around the showroom. Trivedi told him that they had closed the showroom on Friday night and there was cash of about Rs 1.98 lakh in the cash box, which was missing.
The complainant said that Trivedi also informed him that five silk saris worth Rs 1.56 lakh were also missing. On checking, he found that the DVR of the showroom CCTV was also stolen. The complainant stated that on checking the CCTV footage of the mall, it was observed that some unidentified persons entered the showroom at about 1.45am on Saturday by removing the fan and glass from the washroom's ventilator. Later, he was spotted moving out after an hour.
In another complaint, Kamlesh Shah (69) stated in his complaint with Anandnagar police that some unidentified persons entered the house of his relative at Prernatirth Bungalows Division-2 in Jodhpur Village, Satellite, and stole a diamond-studded gold bracelet worth Rs 1.2 lakh. The cops have registered a case and are further investigating.
