Theft at Shankersinh Vaghela’s house

theft

has been reported from the house of former Gujarat CM, ex- leader of opposition and now a leader of NCP, Shankersinh Vaghela. His security guard is the key suspect. According to the FIR lodged with Pethapur police of Gandhinagar, Vaghela’s security man — Basudev Nepali alias Shambhu Gurkha and his wife Sharda had fled with Rs 3 lakh cash and ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh from his house ‘Vasant Vagdo’ near K/7 circle in Gandhinagar.


Suryasinh Hemtuji Chavda (35), a resident of Pethapur who works with Vaghela, has filed an FIR on Sunday evening. “We had employed Nepali four years ago and he used to stay with his wife and kids in Vasant Vagdo. On February 2, Vaghela told me that Nepali had left in October with his kids and wife and did not return since then. On February 7, ornaments and cash worth Rs 7 lakh were not found in the cupboard where they were kept. The room in which the cupboard was kept was accessed only by Nepali and his wife,” said the FIR.

“Only Nepali and his wife could have stolen the money and ornaments from the cupboard,” added the FIR.

PSI A J Anurkar of Pethapur police said that the complainant was filed after it was realized during a marriage preparation at Vaghela’s family that the ornaments and money had been stolen by the security guard and his wife, who had left the house in October.

Police registered a case of theft along with abetment charges and began an investigation.
