The meeting comes in the wake of the indefinite strike call given by GEB Employees'' Action Committee from October 28. If the government decides to concede this demand, the strike would be called off.
After frequent reports of attacks on the staff, GEB sent to the government a proposal on setting up of special police stations in the five zones of the GEB located in Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar. This proposal was forwarded to the ACS (home) in February last year.
