Splashed water leads to assault

Ahmedabad: A man assaulted a Thaltej resident after accusing him of splashing gutter water on him while driving his car past Rajpath Club on Wednesday.
The police identified the accused as Jinoy Dave, who was staying at a hotel near Rajpath Club, and booked him for abuse and causing hurt. Bhargav Patel, general manager of a restaurant, told Vastrapur police that he drove from his house in Thaltej, passed through Sindhu Bhavan Road and a bylane behind Rajpath Club to get to the temple.“When I stopped my car at the Iskcon temple, a man approached me. He claimed that I had splashed gutter water on him while passing the bylane. He hit and I began bleeding. When others saw this, he ran away,” said Patel.
To figure out if the man was telling the truth, Patel retraced his route and saw Dave standing near a paan shop in the lane. “I told told him to accompany me to the police station. He began abusing me as well as the others who accompanied me. He pelted stones at me and damaged my car. We managed to catch him and took him to Vastrapur police station,” said Patel.
