Six held for 22 Lakh angadia robbery
AHMEDABAD: A team of Gandhinagar police arrested six persons on Monday in connection with the abduction of an angadia worker and robbery near Dabhoda on September 28.

Vijay Patel, DSP, Gandhinagar, said that a team of theirs arrested six persons - four from Bhiloda, Aravalli, and two from Bardoli, Surat - in connection with the robbery. "The accused had recced Thakor and planned to rob him. We have not found any previous offence by the group as yet, but have informed other police units about the arrests," he said.
"The bus driver showed presence of mind and memorized the car's registration number and make. Various toll booths were checked on the basis of this and a rough route for the vehicle could be ascertained," said an official.

Thakor

, works for Ishwar Soma and Co, an angadia firm based in Udaipur. On September 27, he boarded a private luxury bus for Ahmedabad with Rs 22.11 lakh cash. At 4 am the next day, the bus was stopped nearLimbadiya
by a group of men who identified themselves as cops and forced him into a car with them. The men drove around various places to disorient Thakor, robbed him of the money and left him near Rajpipla.Vijay Patel, DSP, Gandhinagar, said that a team of theirs arrested six persons - four from Bhiloda, Aravalli, and two from Bardoli, Surat - in connection with the robbery.
