Ahmedabad: The final of junior girls (U-19) at the fourth Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament in Valsad will be a clash of siblings as Bhavnagar’s Jayswal sisters —Namna and Riya — will vie for the honour. While Namna, the elder sister and fourth seed, crushed eighth-seed Mouboni Chatterjee of Ahmedabad 4-1 in the semis, third-seed Riya sent second-seed Arnee Parmar of Surat packing.
The junior girls’ (U-17) final will be played between top-seed Pratha Pawar of Ahmedabad, who defeated fourth-seed Arnee 4-2, and third seed Riya, who once again punched above her weight to beat second-seed Nidhi Prajapati of Ahmedabad.
Top-seed Pratha stormed into final of the sub-junior girls’ (U-15) too after a comfortable win over Surat’s Sanaya Achha 4-1 and will start as the favourite in her match against seventh-seed Nidhi.
The cadet girls’ (U-13) final will have two Ahmedabad paddlers - top-seed Mouboni and second-seed Jiya Trivedi - fighting it out for the trophy.
