AHMEDABAD: Leader of opposition
Shaktisinh Gohil, who organized programmes parallel to the Sadhbhavna fast of chief minister
Narendra Modi said that the people of Bhavnagar were not happy with him as he had not full filled the promises given during the Gujarat Day celebrations on May 1, 2005.
Gohil in a statement said, "People of Bhavnagar are very angry over false promises of the CM.
People have now realized that the CM was squandering public money for his personal publicity. People also opined that Modi was only promoting the interest of few favourite businessmen and was not concerned with the common people."
Gohil said that the resources of the state exchequer are being exploited for few. The CM is working against the interests of people of Gujarat, he alleged. Gohil said that many announcements made by the CM were still not fulfilled. He said that in 2005 Modi had announced special measures for the disabled, but has done nothing. As a result, on World Disability Day, there was an agitation by the disabled.
