She had been to her relative's home in Rajkot on August 18 and had attended an event thereafter. She returned home late on Thursday when she saw lock on the main door broken and her belongings ransacked. She then called up police and took stock of the valuables. She claimed that thieves had stolen gold and silver jewellery along with cash kept in safe and almirah.
"The thieves had broken into the house from the main door. As Mir was away for four days, we've asked the security guards, domestic help and nearby residents whether they had seen the broken lock earlier to ascertain the time of theft. We've also inquired about any recent movements of vendors, door-to-door salesmen and repairers," said a Bopal police official.
The officials said that Mir had recently bought the bungalow where she was living with her family members.
