AHMEDABAD: Continuing with the practice of giving away operations and maintenance of public places and charging entry fees, the
Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited
will hand over the two new sports complexes on riverbanks to private players.
Entry into these facilities will be free from 6am to 8am but after that it will cost Rs 10 per child and Rs 20 per adult. The complexes are ready to be opened.
“Both the sports complexes, one behind

on the western bank and the other near
Shahpur
on the eastern bank will be maintained and operated by private players,” said an official of
Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corp Ltd
(SRFDCL).
He said that the private firms will also be responsible for supplying necessary sports equipment and maintaining facilities like tennis courts and cricket pitches.
The firm selected will have to hire coaches and provide necessary training to people who visit these facilities. “The entry for the general public shall be free from 6am to 8am in the open areas of the sports complex. After that, entry fee of Rs 10 for children and Rs 20 for adults will be charged. The entry for the differently abled people shall be free,” he said.
SRFDCL has developed a cloud-based ticketing software and an android mobile app.
