AHMEDABAD: Women and child development minister Rakhi Birla in the Arvind Kejriwal ministry, will be visiting Gujarat for the rallies which the party's state unit will take out from January 26 to reach out to voters. The state unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to connect with the voters in all the 26 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state.
Sukhdev Patel, convener of AAP, said that Rakhi Birla had promised to be part of the rallies and would announce the dates of her visit on Friday. "She has agreed to take part in the rallies. We are waiting for her dates. She might attend the inauguration or the valedictory function," Patel said.
Another senior leader of the party said that after the Delhi elections, people know about the Jhadu (the broom) here. "But not many know that it belongs to AAP. Hence it is necessary to reach out to local people and create awareness about the party," said the leader.
Officials of AAP said that the rally would be taken out in vehicles and it would not be identified by one single face. It will be organized by the local team of AAP. "No single national or state leader would lead the rally here in the state. The rally will collect the grievances of the people as it passes from a particular area. Thereafter, a file would be prepared and the next course of action on those grievances would be decided," an official said.
