During the search, he found the police inspector’s uniform, two pairs of shoes and socks, one peaked cap, a belt and an air gun – all worth Rs 2,750.Neelam, her daughter Yukta, a BSc student, son Siddharth and Neelam’s friend Shailesh Patel allegedly carried out the Rs 25 lakh theft at the house of Prerana Shah between January 31 and February 7. Prerana, a classmate of Yukta, lives in Shyamal County bungalows in Waghodia. In her complaint with Waghodia police on February 25, Prerana said that

had invited her to stay over on January 31. Later, Yukta’s mother Neelam along with Siddharth and Shailesh Patel went to Prerana’s house and stole one of her cellphones and jewellery worth Rs 25 lakh. Cops suspect that Neelam might have used the uniform to carry out similar offences in the past. She approached the police and filed a complaint of theft and criminal conspiracy against Yukta, Neelam and two others.tnn
