Gujarat: Padma Shri for Kanodia brothers

GANDHINAGAR: Chief minister Bhupendra Patel said on Tuesday that late actors Mahesh and Naresh Kanodia — a popular duo of Gujarati film-music world — will be posthumously awarded the Padma Shri by the President on November 9.
On their first death anniversary, a musical programme “Mahesh-Naresh Smritina Satvare” was organized in Ahmedabad. The CM, who attended the event, paid his tributes, saying that the loss of the Kanodia brothers is being felt by all.
He recollected the days when he was in college and songs of the Kanodia brothers were very popular.Speaker of Gujarat legislative assembly Nimaben Acharya, education minister Jitu Vaghani, Ahmedabad mayor Kirit Parmar and several others were present in the function.
