"Due to lack of laboratory assistants and instructors, practical work and research in science and technical colleges are suffering majorly", said a principal of a technical college.
Similarly, while the state is celebrating festivals like 'Vaanche Gujarat', there are no librarians to assist students towards books in college libraries. "Festivals like Khel Mahakumbh attract lot of attention but there are no physical education instructors in the colleges", said another college principal.
Spokesperson of Congress and former Gujarat University syndicate member said that the state government should pay attention to filling the vacant positions in the college so as to improve the quality of education in the institutions.
