2.7k conferred degrees at Nirma University’s 33rd convocation

Ahmedabad: Nirma University on Friday hosted its 33rd annual convocation ceremony where 2,780 students were conferred degrees. The graduated students included 1,884 graduates, 861 postgraduates, and 35 doctoral students. Out of the total, 1,799 were boys and 981 were girls, said officials. A total of 66 medals were conferred to 56 students, which included 30 girls and 26 boys.
Sanjib Kumar Behera, executive director and state head for Gujarat, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), was the chief guest at the ceremony.
"You have transformed potential into reality, and now you stand on the threshold of a new chapter, prepared to make your mark in the world. As you move forward, remember that leadership begins with self-awareness and the ability to adapt to new challenges. Embrace optimism and resilience and surround yourself with mentors and networks that can guide your growth," Behera said in his speech.
Dr Karsan Patel, president of Nirma University, presided over the event and emphasised the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and values such as responsibility, humility, and hard work. Dr Anup K Singh, director general of the university, presented the annual report during the ceremony.
