, convener of
Una Dalit Atyachar Ladat Samiti (UDALS), on Sunday, threatened to start a new stir against hooliganism in the name of cow protection.
"We will hold a large public gathering of Muslims and dalits in a ground in front of
Bapunagar
police station," said Mevani who is also a convener of Rashtriya Dalit Adhikar Manch.
Mevani alleged that Dalits and Muslims are being targeted by self-styled cow vigilantes due to the politics of saffronization at the Centre. He demanded the banning of all groups of cow vigilantes.
Comparing the alleged murder of Ayyub by cow vigilantes with the Dadri incident, Mevani said that dalit community members will stand with Muslims battle right-wing forces.
Meanwhile crime branch sleuths have picked up two persons for questioning in the murder case. Senior crime branch officials said they are also gathering CCTV footage from different toll plazas between

to identify the MUV car which was allegedly following Ayyub and Samir Shaikh, before they were attacked at Prahladnagar T-junction.
Two animals of cow progeny were in the car driven by Ayyub. Cops said there were earlier complaints registered against Ayyub under the Prevention of Cruelty Against Animals Act.
