AHMEDABAD: The first national Motor Vehicle Accident Conference (MoVACon), a three-day event, will be organised in city starting from September 26.
One-of-its-kind, the conference will have 18 eminent international experts, 24 experts from the country, and 271 delegates participating in the mega event from Europe, Southern Africa, North America and Asia.

Founder of Lifeline Foundation Subroto Das said, "The focus of the conference will be on hazardous incidence management, public-private partnership, standardisation of rescue efforts and speeding of legal procedures among other concerned subjects."
More than a lakh people die in road accidents every year and the annual rate of increase in road accidents in the country is eight per cent. In 2005, more than 5,000 got killed in road accidents in Gujarat. Das said, "The most vulnerable road users are pedestrians, drivers and passengers of two-wheelers and users of public transport system." "The absence of trauma protocol, good Samaritan laws, ownership of trauma care and the slow nature of our judicial system are grave concerns related with saving lives on roads," Das added. Lifeline Foundation is an international non profit institution and only emergency medical service provider on highways functional in India. At present, it's operational in highways in Gujarat, Maharashtra , West Bengal, Kerala, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.
The 10 key speakers will be Magsaysay award winner Arvind Kejriwal, Anu Aga from Thermax and former Indian cricketer Anshuman Gaekwad among others.
