Ahmedabad: A 32-year-old man from
Gandhinagar on Saturday filed a complaint with Shahibaug police stating that his cellphone worth Rs 10,000 was stolen outside the postmortem room of the Civil Hospital in Asarwa on June 20.
Arpit Chaudhary, a resident of Sametri village in Dehgam in Gandhinagar, works as a junior clerk with the employment and training department at the old secretariat in Gandhinagar.
As his father met an untimely death in VS Hospital on June 20, his body was sent to Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.
Chaudhary said that when the body was in the postmortem room, he slept on a footpath outside.
During the wee hours of June 21, when he woke up, he found that his cellphone was stolen. Chaudhary filed an e-FIR through e-Guj cop application.
Shahibaug police registered a complaint of theft against an unknown man and began an investigation.
