Man stages kidnapping drama to win his wife's sympathy, arrested

AHMEDABAD: A 47-year-old man from Chharodi village staged a kidnap drama on Tuesday in an attempt to win his wife's sympathy but was soon caught by the police. The cops found Manuji Thakor at Ognaj.
Sola police got a message from Mukesh Thakor, also a resident of Chharodi, that his uncle Manuji Thakor had been abducted by moneylenders. The police swung into action.
"Mukesh said he got a call from his cousin, Manuji's daughter, at 2pm on Tuesday. She told Mukesh that she had received a call from Manuji telling her that he had been abducted by moneylenders and that the abductors demanded Rs 1 lakh as ransom. Manuji told her to inform her mother and said that he would call back soon for the money," said a Sola police official.
Senior officials made several teams and started investigation. They sought the mobile phone location for the call made by Manuji and found it to be Ognaj. Then the police started search for Manuji and found him alone on highway at Ognaj.
