Man stabbed in road rage attack on CG Road; two booked
Ahmedabad: A 41-year-old man was injured after he was attacked with a sharp weapon in a road rage incident on CG Road on Thursday morning. Navrangpura police have registered a complaint against an autorickshaw driver and another accused in connection with the attack. According to the FIR, the victim, Navdeep Gadhvi, a resident of Amraiwadi, who works with a private firm, was travelling to his office on his two-wheeler at around 9.30am. While heading from CG Road towards the Wagh Bakri junction, he noticed an autorickshaw being driven in a zigzag manner and narrowly avoiding collisions with other vehicles. Gadhvi overtook the autorickshaw and objected to the driver's rash driving, police said. The driver reportedly stopped the vehicle near the junction, after which he and a co-passenger stepped out and started arguing with Gadhvi. "The accused began abusing the complainant and threatening him. When the victim protested, the co-passenger allegedly pulled out a sharp weapon and attacked him," a police officer said. Gadhvi suffered injuries on the upper right side of his waist. Both accused fled the scene immediately after the assault. Passers-by alerted emergency services, and Gadhvi was taken to a hospital in a 108 ambulance. He is currently undergoing treatment and is conscious. Navrangpura police have booked the accused for assault, criminal intimidation and causing hurt using a weapon.
