AHMEDABAD: A 64-year-old man, who works with a finance firm lost Rs 1.11 lakh when a thief stole the money by hoodwinking near Girish Cold-Drink Crossroad at CG road on Saturday evening.
According to the FIR lodged with Navrangpura police, the man—Dilsukh Gaudan, a resident of Vasna, was at Samudra Complex on CG road to receive payment from an Angadia firm.
Earlier, he had already collected Rs 1.11 lakh from various Angadia firms and was waiting at Samudra Complex.
At that time, a man aged around 30 came to him and asked that a man was calling him while pointing in other direction. Gaudan, who had kept the cash in glovebox of his two-wheeler started walking towards the direction he was told. He had left the keys in the two-wheeler’s glovebox. As he walked around some steps he doubted on the man’s intention and swiftly came back. To his shock he saw that the glove-box of his two-wheeler was open and the cash was missing.
Gaudan then called up his employer and narrated the entire incident. Later, they both approached Navrangpura police and filed a complaint of theft against the unknown person police have started investigating the case.
