Man accuses wife of beating him for refusing dinner

Ahmedabad: A 26-year-old man from the Chandlodia area of the city on Tuesday filed a complaint against his wife and her relatives, alleging that they beat him and his brother on Monday over refusing dinner at her place on Rakshabandhan.The woman, 25, also filed a complaint alleging that her husband slashed her and attacked her family members.In her complaint with Sola police, Nikita Bodana, a resident of Lavanya Society in Chandlodia, said that she had gone to her parents' place in Shahpur on Rakshabandhan. Nikita said that her husband, Dhaval Bodana, came to her parents' place in Shahpur at around 7pm on Monday and pressured her to come to his home in Chandlodia.To this, Nikita told Dhaval that they should have their dinner at her parents' place before leaving. Dhaval refused and went to his house. Nikita said that she, along with her brothers Amit and Hitesh Parmar and their mother Kamla Parmar, went to talk with Dhaval over the issue. She alleged that Dhaval and his elder brother Prem abused and beat them. Later, Prem drew a knife with which he allegedly tried to attack Amit. To save her brother, Nikita intervened and held the knife, suffering injuries to her left hand.On the other hand, Dhaval said in his FIR with Sola police that Nikita, her brothers Hitesh and Amit, and their mother Kamla Parmar first beat his brother Prem as he tried to pacify them. Later, Hitesh and Amit allegedly attacked Prem with a stone and hit him on his head and hands. Dhaval alleged that his wife and mother-in-law also beat and abused him.People from the Lavanya Society gathered there after hearing the commotion and rescued Dhaval and Prem. Dhaval alleged that his wife and in-laws also attacked him with stones.Later, Sola police registered two separate FIRs of causing grievous hurt and began an investigation. MSID:: 112658108 413 |
