Malaysian filmstar half-Gujarati

His name is Mahesh Jugal Kishor. In Malaysia, this 18-year-old is a heart-throb after the success of his film Talentime which was released in March 2009. His forefathers had migrated from Gujarat to Malaysia several centuries back, given the historic trade links between Ahmedabad and Melaka which dates back to the 15th century.
He writes in his blog, “My name is Mahesh Jugal Kishor.I am half Gujarati.”
Mahesh can speak Gujarati fluently.
The Talentime story revolves around Mahesh, a deaf teenager, who comes from a family steeped in traditional Indian values. This is the story of his love with a local Muslim girl.
